Tijori — Privacy Policy

Tijori is a private household and company finance tool built and used by the owners of Erango Media Inc. It is not offered to the public and has no users outside the family that owns the company.

What Tijori connects to

Google (Gmail, read-only). With each mailbox owner's explicit consent on Google's own sign-in screen, Tijori reads messages in that mailbox to find receipts, invoices, card transaction alerts and credit-score notices. It uses the gmail.readonly scope only. It never sends, moves, labels or deletes mail, and never reads mail for any other purpose.

Plaid (bank and card connections). With the account holder's consent, given in Plaid's own window, Tijori receives transaction history, balances and, where the institution provides them, statement details. Bank passwords are typed only into Plaid's window and are never seen or stored by Tijori.

How the data is used

Categorising spending, budgeting, tracking card balances and payments, matching receipts to charges, recording the sales taxes a receipt states, and preparing year-end summaries for the company's accountant. Nothing else.

Where it is stored

On one computer owned by the account holders, with full-disk encryption, in a local database that is not synced to any cloud service. Receipt files are saved beside that database. Google and Plaid access tokens are kept in the same place and nowhere else.

Who can see it

The account holders, and the company's accountant, who receives a year-end export.

What Tijori does not do

Data is never sold, shared with advertisers, used to train models, transferred to any third party, or used for any purpose other than the ones above. Tijori's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Retention and deletion

Financial records are kept for the six years Canadian tax law requires, then deleted. Any mailbox or bank connection can be disconnected at any time from within Tijori, which revokes the access token at Google or Plaid. Google access can also be removed at any time from the Google Account's third-party access page.
